Artist's Statement

As an Artist I did not set out to paint in a certain manner, subject or viewpoint. The only way I could develop a personal form of expression was to evolve through practice and contemplation. This has meant many years of work and study. Somehow, through the creative process, which is inherently spiritual and mysterious, I wandered into the realm of a personal world that I can manipulate or invent.

I aim to create the allure of visual simplicity. Our culture can be very chaotic and anxious. It is challenging to cut through that cultural fog and discover the essence of anything. It was many years before I realized that this subconscious quest for simplicity was in response to the complexity of life that surround us. Being an artist for me, simply means the freedom to explore, focus and create a captivating visual sense or experience that people can relate to and appreciate.
